There were a lot of good tips in this ebook. Feeding a family well these days is getting much more difficult due to increasing prices. Thank you for putting together these really good ideas..
This book was way more than I expected, I was only hoping for a few tips, maybe a recipe or two and that was all. Instead this book is packed with great information ranging from cooking in bulk, freezer storage, couponing even farmers market shopping. The book also has some great suggestions for ways to save money simply by changing what you eat (and yes it can still be healthy, in fact most of the suggestions are healthier then how I was previously eating). Instead of eating the same boring food over and over, there are some great recipes such as tuna burrito bowl and BBQ pork shoulder. There are even tips on how to eat frugally when you go out, and some cool ideas like urban foraging. A great book and a very interesting read!
Being frugal is one thing.. but recommending dumpster diving as a way to acquire food for your family is a bit ridiculous. People.. there are soup kitchens.. take your family there. The food is safer and you wont have to risk going to jail.
Kaylee Cole's debut book, The Art of Frugal Feeding a Family on a Budget provides excellent and sensible advice that everyone should be aware of. She provides tips and hints on how to save money on food expenses in any possible setting. The information she provides is clear and easy to understand. She further makes it easier for you to balance your food budget with bonus extras such as online resources and inexpensive recipes, which alone would make this a valuable resource for any frugal person. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone who would like to learn how to save money in one of the easiest areas to cut costs on a daily basis. She promises to continue her Art of Frugal series with additional books on ways to save money, and I eagerly await her next publication.
I really liked this book and it got me thinking about living a little cheaper and saving some cash. I liked the chapter breakdowns and the extra links to more information at the end of each chapter. Solid tips for my family.
I thought this book was a good way for today's generation to get easy information on how to do many of the food care and storage techniques that were passed down from generation to generation.
Unfortunately learning how to cook, preserve and prepare food at home seems to have been left out of general learning, along with learning how to care for a home.
I'm sorry to report The Art of Frugal Feeding a Family on a Budget offers very little, if any, new information. The book offers general frugal living tips, most of which can be found for free using the Internet, or by reading pamphlets offered by the federal government. Save your money and skip this book.
